KDL-32 EX503 well worth the extra cost August 23, 2010 Dave Kingswood 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
A bit more expensive than most 32 inch LCD TVs but well worth the extra. Freeview HD included as standard and access to numerous internet channels, through a router (not supplied), with iplayer promised for later this year. I thought I might have to buy a new 'digital' antenna, but no, I get great HD pictures with the 'old' one. It has a superb quality picture and good sound it is easy to navigate through all available features with the remote. The user manual is included integral with the TV, very useful. It also looks very stylish. I am very pleased that I chose this TV.
Bravia tv wireless connection issues August 21, 2010 Nathan Gricks (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Sony needs to get its act together; how about trouble-shooting a new product before selling it in the market? {Apple anyone?} The tv was able originally to take, wirelessly, mp3 files from a server (Netgear NAS device, DLNA certified) but gave up after a month. The main circuit board was replaced, to no avail.
I note another reviewer had a similar problem too. But, it's not your home network or the router, it's the tv!
Further, this tv has not got the software to run the vaunted 'PC to TV' function; this is rehearsed in several web fora, and even acknowledged by Sony - so why is the information on the tv, in the manual and on their website (as an advert)?
Finally, the picture is not as good as my old Panasonic CRT tv, which was scrapped to make way for this 'cutting edge' unit.
Not impressed. It's going back on Tuesday!
Easy as a, b, c August 19, 2010 simpleton 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I know nothing about TVs and techie things, but I bought this based on recommendations, reviews, brand name and the fact that it has Freeview HD. Very happy with it, couldn't be easier to set up. Picture looks good to me and sound sounds good :o)
Best 32" Flat Screen By Far August 17, 2010 A. Rose (Devon & Menorca) This television is a good looking piece of kit with connectors hidden away down the side and at the back and incorporating speakers cleverly hidden in the design producing the effect of digital surround sound.
The set-up is simple as regards configuring and tuning for the first time, and as you will have entered your postcode during the initial set-up the included T.V. guide will be for your area. After about five minutes the T.V. located all the available digital channels and available analogue channels, having both tuners.
A huge benefit with this T.V. is the inbuilt free-sat facility (as opposed to merely being HD ready) which means that you have access to subscription-free HD broadcasts. The Sony Bravia uses Motionflow 100hz which boasts smooth sharp images in fast moving scenes such as sport or action movies which certainly seems to be very effective. The picture quality is very impressive and the colour detail is superb. It incorporates an ambient light sensor which cleverly adjusts the backlight and brightness depending on the amount of light in the room. There are more connection options than I will ever need and is wi-fied as standard but very disappointingly you will need to purchase a wireless network dongle. Why this is not built in (as in wireless laptops) I do not know, but once acquired it enables you to easily connect to your wireless home network without the need for cables. The Bravia Internet Video enables you to connect your T.V. to the internet to access online services. A further USB port enables you to access and enjoy stored photographs, movies and music.
I can highly recommend this television for picture quality, style and ease of use and the varied connectivity is a great bonus.
