Be warned.The once free map packs that used to be included are no longer.
My sole reason for purchasing the Game of the Year Edition was to get the free map packs..otherwise all it stands for is the box labelling! There is NO difference between the GOTY Edition and the normal one any more. I expected to get a voucher code inside the box..nope.
Still a great game but this is VERY misleading.
I'm not the only one caught out by this.

Warning: Despite the label describing this as the Game of the Year Edition, the one I received was not. The only difference with the extended moniker is that you are meant to find a token on the back of the manual to download a key for the additional map pack, but the manual inside the box was just the plain old edition this time - no codes. The cover on the box clearly had the GOTYE name though. If it weren't for the bargain basement price I'd feel pretty annoyed about this.
Anyway, there isn't much else I can add as the gameplay has been pretty much covered elsewhere. The MW2 sequel is perhaps better IMHO on multiplayer at least, but in both cases the game was completed rather too quickly on the regular dificulty. Overall, the only niggle was the missing map token. Good luck! :o)

As an "older" casual gamer I recently purchased this game.I am a great fan of shooters and action games
and this is the best yet. Action was fast and furious with lots of modern weaponary. My only criticism
is that it ended too soon and left me wanting more !

Cod6 blew everyone away, and fair enough, it is awesome. The modern warfare series has become a legendary gaming event. It reads like a checklist of perfect features: Stylish, intense, bloody and great plot. But, to all you Cod6 (modern warfare 2) fans, I recomend you pick this up (ONLY A TENNER!!!) and play it. It is destined to become a classic and was my top game of 2007. And to any newcomers who have never played COD before (WHY!?!) then pick this up at the shops (or here at Amazon) for a cheap price and find out what you've been missing. I love this game, it is the perfect war experience! No escuses! BUY!
If you like Modern Warfare then try this... Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (Xbox 360)

What can I say. What a game. Let's start with the good things - cup half full!
Good Points:
Addictive. You do levels so many times without boredness. Very adventurous. Many of guns.
Now the not so good bits.
Bad points:
The story libe is very short, should be more levels. Not that challenging.
