5 out of 5 stars Excellent   July 24, 2010

This is the best game i have played this year by far
The story line is really well done its not linier you have freedom to wander about the post nuclear wasteland picking up missions and gaining skills and weapons. It gives you lots of choices in how you develop your character which effect the way the game plays out.

The game is really well made both in the content and idea and in the programing. I have not had any bugs crashs or glitchs (you need to get the patch tho)which is amazing as the game is massive and the content is complex as there are an infinite number of ways to complete the game.

ITs just an excellent game.

2 out of 5 stars windows 7 incompatibility?   July 13, 2010

very disappointed at first: nothing worked
purchased it recently for a new machine (i7 930,ATI HD5850, win7pro64bits)
game installed, updated, did the .ini trick, tried different compatibility mode
starting a game is impossible... finally i got the info to update microsoft Games for Windos - Live. Now the game is working. I had a crash pretty soon but i can't be sure about that now (got to play more, we'll see if there's a lot of crashes or not)
2 stars because of the poor support on the Editor's website.

5 out of 5 stars Utterly Awesome   June 16, 2010

The first thing that you must understand is that the price for this game is actually unbelievable, it's dirt cheap for a brilliant game. Once I got over the initial shock of the price I loaded it up, with no problems, and started to game away. The different locations coupled with the atmosphere that you get within the game is truly maginicant, and it doesn't even require an AMAZING graphics card to do so. I'm running it on an 8800 GTS and the graphics are still mind blowing. Once you get into the game you dont want to quit it, tha terrain is so vast and exciting (not as laboursome as Far Cry 2 thank god) that everywhere you go there is a new mission for you to play or new people to meet. The single player main campaign itself is a good length but the fun just keeps on going with the 5 expansions.

I'm finding it hard to try to conjure a negative out of this, as it really is a truly magnificant game, the only thing I can think of is that when you complete the game you dont start right away with the expansions, you need to go into an option in the start up menu and turn them on

im bored of playin fps games. started playin back i suppose when doom and quake first came out.
fall out 3 is a good fun shooter the mixes a little rpg into the mix. I cant stand rpg's but the balance of fall out 3 is spot on.
if you get it cheap enough it is a definate buy. Steam charges 30 euro for this game so amazon is the way to go.

Don't Buy this game unless you have a nuclear reactor PC, it just won't work on low end systems even on the lowest graphics settings it crashes as soon as you select a new game, make sure your PC/Laptop has at least what the game is asking for or you'll have no chance, don't bother thinking if you run it on low settings it will work because it detects that your system is substandard and imediately crashes. It also hates windows seven!
