1 out of 5 stars Games great....when it runs   July 1, 2010

I bought Napoleon TW downloaded it from the infamous STEAM (btw you can download the game from disc, see end note) and played the game for two weeks (great fun) until they downloaded an 'update' (which I prefer to call a virus) now the game fails to start, at all. So I tried the many fixes which didn't work and found Steam Support aren't much good (the Forums do supply more help)...the two weeks of play were great but if I knew how much hassle and dissapointment was to ensue I would never have bought the game. I also waited many years for a remake of Shogan (Shogan II's a coming) but now I'm not sure I want to buy that as long as it's connected to STEAM.

Using Steam launch options to install retail games from disc
1.Log in to Steam and click on Library.
2.Right-click on the game, select Delete local content, and confirm.
3.Insert the first disc into your computer.
4.Close Steam (Steam > Exit).
5.Press Windows Key + R to open Run
6.In the Run window type:

"C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -install E:

Replace E: with the CD/DVD drive you are installing from if is not correct.
Replace C:\Program Files\Steam if your Steam installation is not in the default location.
7.Press OK. Steam will launch and ask you to sign in if you do not have your password saved. Your installation should continue from the disc.

4 out of 5 stars Great game :D   June 28, 2010

I would like to point out, anyone who said "It took about 20 hours to download" is rather silly. As on Steam they have the download button and a CD installation button. If you push the CD installation one it'll ask for your two CD's, therefore allowing it to take about 40 minutes to install. The game is about 20GB of space.

I liked the game, the reason why I gave it 4 stars is because of the campaign. Unlike Medieval, its very complex and I dislike it, its why I gave it 4 stars, otherwise, battles are MUCH better, I loved them and the bugs are completely gone, I especially love the way they made online play as you can set a 1-2 minute timer on players turns so your not sat around forever.

Bought this for my son, who is addicted to Rome Total War.
Total waste of money, Doesn't load easily. Crashes constantly.
Wish I'd bought the Wii COD game, he also wanted, instead.
